Carbon Development Coordinator
Wildlife Alliance is seeking an international candidate for the position of Carbon Programming Coordinator. Duties are as follows:
Program Support:
- Work closely with the Country Director and the Program Manager on the development of Wildlife Alliance’s REDD pilot project.
- Coordinate closely with the Carbon Developer and the relevant government agencies to fulfill Wildlife Alliance’s responsibilities in the timely and successful completion of the detailed Project Design document, including : Organizing logistics between Wildlife Alliance, the technical assistance team and government agencies; Providing the Carbon Developer with data needed from Wildlife Alliance. This requires good technical writing skills: being able to collate and summarize existing data collected over the past years, and communicate it in a precise, coherent and factual debriefing document.; Overseeing collection of field data and ensuring that field teams are on target with methodology, locations and timetables.; Providing on-going updates on progress/ issues
- Supervise the implementation of the field-based carbon biomass inventory in Koh Kong province.
- Assure that project development and technical assistance stay in line with agreed timeframe.
- Organize and attend regular meetings with Carbon Developer technical assistance team, Wildlife Alliance program manager, and government agencies.
- Assure follow-up actions by communicating with relevant field program staff.
- Other duties as required.
Project Management:
- Ensure rigorous project management so that all teams are in sync and deliver scheduled outputs on time – allowing for the Project Design Document to be issued within the technical specifications and time frame.
- Maintain well-organized files of project plans, schedules and correspondence.
- Management requires face-to-face project management skills and in-field supervision and good follow-up.
- Assure continuous feedback loop with the Wildlife Alliance team, government agencies and the Carbon Developer.
- Locate new sources of grant funding from government, multilateral, and other institutional sources for sustainable financing for forest protection and carbon financing by conducting research, initiating contacts, and obtaining grant requirements.
Qualifications:
- University Degree in Natural Sciences or Forestry.
- Minimum of three years experience in project management, coordination, and team supervision. Practical project management and field experience is very important.
- Technical writing skills must be well honed, and verbal communication skills in English must be very strong.
- Attention to detail and able to implement effective work systems.
- Possess initiative and the ability to work independently.
- Positive attitude; can maintain a fast, energetic work pace.
Salary
Salary is competitive and will be determined based on the qualifications of the successful candidate.

Patrol Station Supervisor will lead a law enforcement team of 12 men that are responsible for stopping forest crimes in their patrol quadrant such as logging, land grabbing, slash and burn, charcoal kilns, and wildlife poaching. Primary responsibility will be to schedule patrols and to take timely action to stop traders and loggers when information is received from informants. As a supervisor, the first role is to prevent corruption and to assure proper patrolling and legal processing. Responsiblility for team discipline and motivation, assuring good relationships amongst team members, station maintenance, station security, logistics, health matters and managing station budget. Further responsibilities include liaises with local authoritie, reporting directly to the Field Coordinator, and providing monthly reports.
Profile:
5 years minimum in the military with a minimum of 3 years in a team supervisory position. Must be strict in control management. Willing to stay up to 3 consecutive months in remote post. Love wilderness and have a commitment to protect nature. Must be fluent in English. Computer literate and proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel.
