Description: Siamese Crocodile
Habitat Range: Located in: Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Vietnam Possibly extinct: Thailand The Siamese Crocodile is a freshwater species, occurring in swamps and slow-moving sections of streams and rivers, but also found in lakes. It also has many terrestrial nesting and basking sites, which make it more vulnerable to poaching and habitat destruction.
Numbers Left in the Wild: Unkown
Primary Threats: The principal threats to this animal are habitat destruction, illegal hunting, and persecution by people out of fear.
What we are doing to help:
- At Phom Tamao Wildlife Rescue Center we offer rehab and soft releases for the crocodiles that are found alive.
- Our Wildlife Rapid Rescue Team is fighting the illegal trade of this reptile.
