The sequenced video footage below shows the rescue of two Asiatic black bears by the Wildlife Rapid Rescue Team. Also seen in the video are members of the rescue team, the vet, Sissa Ket, and retired U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Agent, Manny Medina. In the first scene, WRRT members approach a seemingly abandoned oxcart.
After the bears have been sedated, the top of the oxcart is removed.
Vet Sissa Ket examines the bears and gives them antibiotics to help fight infection. In addition to multiple snare wounds, both bears have lost a paw.
Retired U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Agent, Manny Medina, talks with members of the WRRT as vet Sissa Ket readies other medication.
After sedation, the newly bandaged cubs rest and recover some of their strength with the help of a few bananas and some much-needed water.
