Russia Phoenix Fund

Anti
-Poaching and Habitat Protection
Phoenix Fund, Wildlife Alliance's independent Russian partner organization, supports a number of state and public environmental law enforcement teams that operate in Amur tiger and leopard habitats. These anti-poaching teams are integral to the future survival of these two species and will continue to play an important role in conserving Russia's wild places.
Emergency Response Team
Phoenix Fund supports an Emergency Response Team which responds to human-tiger conflict situations that can arise due to lack of prey, wounds, predation on livestock, or other factors. Before the creation of the Emergency Response Team, most tiger conflict cases ended with the animal's death.
Environmental Education and Outreach
Phoenix Fund recognizes environmental education and outreach as an important facet of conservation. They maintain an active presence in schools, communities and the media with education and outreach programs, publications and festivals to spread the importance of conservation issues.
Community Support
Phoenix Fund combats ignorance about the consequences of human actions by educating communities about the damage caused by forest fires and pollution, and raises awareness about the value of preserving indigenous species.
