Thailand Program Peun Pa
Surviving Together |
|
Wildlife Alliance's Surviving Together program was piloted in Thailand's first national park, Khao Yai, in 1999. Wildlife Alliance and Thai officials, in collaboration with village leaders, designed a comprehensive management system to reduce illegal use of the park's resources while addressing the needs of the impoverished local communities surrounding the parks.

Public Awareness - Sold Out Campaign |
The "Sold Out" National Outreach Campaign is targeting Thai citizens to be aware of how they can inadvertently contribute to the extinction of wildlife species through the purchase of them for the pet and other wildlife trade. Supported by the USAID and the State Department, the campaign is pitching at markets like the Jatujak Market in Bangkok, and at magazines such as Marie Claire, TV spots, and billboards, targeting a relatively affluent, sophisticated audience.

ASEAN - Wildlife Enforcement Network |
|
Wildlife Alliance and TRAFFIC support governments of Southeast Asia to enforce wildlife protection laws and treaties and to ensure that Asia's wildlife are protected for the benefit of future generations. Asia is a global hotspot for illegal poaching, wildlife trafficking and endangered species consumption. This concentration derives from several factors including: regionally high biodiversity; well-established transportation links and smuggling routes; nominal allocations of local and international government resources to the issues; and low public awareness of regional conservation and sustainability needs.
