In early February, the KE environmental education team went to Kampong Trach District, Kampot Province, in collaboration with BirdLife International Cambodia Programme to urge people and students to aid in the protection of birds in Anlung Pring Sarus Crane Conservation Area and across Cambodia. We had been working with 2 communities and 4 schools in the area: Phumi Phmor Sor, Phumi Phnom Riep, Chres Primary School, Thmor Boek Primary School, Koh Thnout Primary School, and Phnom Riep Primary School.
Wildlife and Habitat lessons was usually done, but we focus on “the Crane,” the highest bird in Cambodia. It has long beaks, a long neck, and long legs and is nearly two meters tall. Community members and students committed themselves to protecting wildlife for the benefit of their communities and for the generation to come.
