Wildlife Alliance has generously donated 20,000 saplings to the District Administration of Veal Veng in support of the One Million Trees campaign. A special ceremony was held at the Governor’s Office in Veal Veng district to mark the beginning of the official planting of these saplings.

This significant contribution is part of the 197,000 saplings donated by Wildlife Alliance to support the Cambodian Government’s “One Million Trees” campaign. These saplings, comprising 18 tropical forest tree species, have been carefully nurtured in Wildlife Alliance’s nursery in Chi Phat, Koh Kong, and were ready to be planted.

This donation is a testament to Wildlife Alliance’s dedication to protecting the Cardamom Rainforest and revitalizing lost forest areas. The collaborative effort between Wildlife Alliance and the Ministry of Environment reinforces their longstanding commitment to safeguarding Cambodia’s rainforest.

John Willis, Country Director of Wildlife Alliance, expressed confidence that the donated saplings will play a crucial role in restoring the Cardamom Rainforest Landscape. He also extended gratitude to H.E. Eang Sophalleth, Minister of Environment, and Mr. Theang Leng, Governor of Veal Veng District, for their support and acknowledgment. Their collective efforts aim to positively impact the environment and elevate the international standing of the Royal Government.

In response, Theang Leng, Governor of Veal Veng District, shared heartfelt appreciation for the generous donation, recognizing its vital role in restoring the greenery of Veal Veng.
